Green Property Certificate Punjab 2026 How to Apply and Full Process Explained

Property disputes in Punjab have ruined more families than most people want to admit. Years in court, fake documents surfacing out of nowhere, neighbors suddenly claiming a boundary that was never theirs. The government has introduced something that directly addresses this mess and it becomes mandatory for every property transaction in Punjab from July 2026 onward.

The Green Property Certificate is issued by the Punjab Land Records Authority. The entire fee is Rs. 950 and nothing beyond that. It covers your full ownership history, any disputes sitting on record, unpaid taxes linked to the property, and any bank loans attached to it. Once the process is complete, your property receives official Green Status, meaning it is verified, clean, and legally safe to buy, sell, or transfer. Every property owner in Punjab should understand this process before the July 2026 deadline makes it a requirement rather than a choice.
